Meet the Droolers

Have you ever tried to travel with a dog? What about two 132 pound dogs?

Meet Henry & Arlo. These big boys love a road trip and are always up for taking their charms on the road. We tend to get a lot of questions every time we go…well, anywhere…so we thought we could cover them here.

FAQ

What type of dogs are they? Henry is a full Bernese (not Burmese) Mountain Dog and Arlo is Great Saint Bernese (Great Pyrenees, Saint Bernard, Bernese Mountain Dog).

How old are they? They’re only 8 months apart! Henry was born October 15, 2018 and Arlo on July 23, 2019.

How long have you had them? We’ve had Henry since he was 2 months old and I have a million puppy pictures to prove it. Arlo joined us in January of 2021 from a loving family that put his needs before their own.

Do they like each other? They love each other!! We got extremely lucky that they formed such a quick bond but it is no surprise since they are both very loving. Check out our Instagram @julesandthedroolers to see constant pictures and videos of big dogs cuddling.

How much do they weigh? Both are hovering right at 130 lbs (we have competitions).

How much do they eat? Henry has elbow dysplasia and needs to keep slim so he’s eats roughly 2.5 cups of food a day. Arlo is still growing and still gets 5 cups a day!

What do they eat? I’ve switched up their food quite a bit – currently they’re eating Nutrisource kibble with lots of fresh veggie, eggs, and sardine additives. Henry has also been on a raw diet but it’s a bit pricey with 2 dogs this size! And they also get a million treats.

How big are their poops? Do you really want to know this…? (It depends on what they’ve been eating.)

Do they shed? I cannot emphasize this enough…YES. YES. YES.

How big is your yard? It’s big enough for Arlo to do massive zoomies and for Henry to wait patiently for him to come back around.

How big is your house? We can all sleep in the bedroom…just not all on the bed…

Is that a clown car? Yes, it is. We definitely need a bigger car.

Do they have a whiskey barrel collars? Of course.

Do they have saddles? I would love to see someone try to put them on.

Can I pet them? Another always yes! Arlo may knock you over when he leans in for extra cuddles. Henry can be a bit shy and might bark but they both love attention.
